Our Mission:

The mission of Glory Ministries is to evangelize and to teach. We provide multi-media avenues of evangelization (showing people how to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ) and teaching (showing people how to experience spiritual growth).

Why We Exist:
Glory Ministries exists in response to Jesus’ words in The Great Commission:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20a NIV)

Jesus urges us to:

  • Go
  • Make disciples
  • Baptize
  • Teach

Go:
We want to evangelize the entire world, proclaiming the gospel message:
Jesus said his followers, “Go everywhere in the world, and tell the Good News to everyone.” (Mark 16:15 NCV)

Make disciples:
We want people to become followers of Jesus Christ:
Later, as Jesus left the town, he saw a tax collector named Levi, sitting at his tax-collection booth. “Come, be my disciple!” Jesus said to him. So Levi got up, left everything, and followed him. (Luke 5:27-28 NLT)

Baptize:
We want people to be baptized in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit: Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. (Mark 16:16a NLT)

Teach:
We want to teach people how to grow spiritually as we grow in relationship with Jesus: Every day they spent time in the temple and in one home after another. They never stopped teaching and telling the good news that Jesus is the Messiah. (Acts 5:42 CEV)

Author and Speaker

Janice M. Valvano

Janice’s teachings are sprinkled with the insights she gained as she learned how to deal with people in difficult relationships. For example, God brought about healing in her relationship with her late husband. He was a church-going man from a church-going family. But a year after they married, he announced that church was boring, so he quit going to church and went on to pursue an ungodly lifestyle. Janice’s husband wanted her to join him in his lifestyle. When she refused to engage in those activities, he badgered her with anger outbursts. For years, Janice prayed asking God to change his heart. After he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, he repented and asked God to forgive him. He lived 18 months longer, and during that time, Janice and her husband prayed together every day. Only in hindsight could Janice see the good that God brought into her life through those years of opposition. Like a good weightlifting trainer, God enabled her to carry heavy burdens that made her stronger than before. Janice had been a people-pleaser, but she learned to consistently choose to please God over pleasing people. She learned to trust in God’s plan for her life.

Janice, who has a Master’s Degree in Theology, has had a lifelong love of learning, which began with the many questions she asked her parents and teachers and friends − questions about God in particular and about life in general. The insights Janice received from her life-long Catholic father and her life-long Methodist mother led her to desire more unity among Christian denominations as we stand shoulder-to-shoulder in the victory Jesus won for us on the Cross. Janice longs for the day when our Christ-centered relationships will draw us together into a spiritual force which will effectively:

  • Engage in spiritual warfare to set the captives free
  • Train and equip believers to fulfill their mission on earth
  • Facilitate believers’ development of an ever-deepening love relationship with God.

Janice is a widow, the mother of two grown children and the grandmother of three. She lives in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

For this is what the Lord has commanded us:
“ I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 13:47 NIV
